Business Development Manager

Our client is an award-winning commercial fit-out and project management company, with a bespoke joinery manufacturing facility. With over 65 years’ experience, they are well respected within the industry. Consistently exceeding the needs and expectations of their clients, completing projects to the highest standard.

Now looking for a proactive and confident Business Development Manager to join the team.

Job role

  • You should have extensive experience and knowledge of the hospitality & leisure market
  • A comprehensive list of known contacts, within the Design & Project Management field
  • Utilise your knowledge, contacts and skills to unlock new opportunities and acquire new customers for the company
  • Integrate new business wins into existing customer base profitability
  • Promote company offer utilising manufacturing capability in UK and global markets
  • Generate revenue opportunities from new customers in line with agreed targets and business strategy
  • Take design briefs and convert to new opportunities
  • Identify and develop senior level relationships which allow the company to drive sales opportunities while assisting in developing client objectives and delivering effective solutions to the customer
  • Identify commercial opportunities and upcoming tenders being proactive in instigating pre-tender work methodically and through the tender cycle
  • Lead and provide regular updates on the commercial progress of tenders within the business
  • Provide accurate monthly sales forecasts, attain financial targets to satisfy Board expectations

Skills and Experience

  • Proven success within the hospitality and leisure sectors, as well as experience of on-boarding new customers
  • A 2:1 or above in a relevant degree (or equivalent). Preferred but not essential
  • Strong commercial awareness with emphasis on profitability
  • Demonstrate consultative selling skills, capable of developing solutions beyond price and be able to provide evidence of this
  • Personality with presence and credible talking up and down the scale of an organisation
  • A professional attitude to work
  • An innovative and flexible approach
  • Exceptional communication and listening skills
  • Award and career motivated
  • Deliver best in class customer service levels
  • Demonstrate a good track record of loyalty towards previous employers
  • Ability to work as part of a fun team but be equally capable of working on your own initiative
