Business Development Manager

About

Our client specialises in bespoke displays for retail point of sale. They have an excellent supplier and existing customer base.

They are now looking to add a Business Development Manager to the team, who will grow the new business side and increase regular customers.

Job Role

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the markets
  • Assist with the planning of sales strategy, focusing primarily on new business
  • Achieve and strive to exceed performance related goals, sales targets and profit margins
  • Promote the company’s products and services, ensuring they differentiate from competitors
  • Build strong working relationships, generating real value for the customer
  • Ensure prompt, effective responses to quotations, proposals, presentations, and samples
  • Identify and handle any problems and complaints to a mutually beneficial conclusion
  • Monitor existing business, reporting on competitor activity and making recommendations for improvements
  • Work with the Senior Management team and provide accurate and timely sales information

Skills and Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience within a similar fabricating sales environment
  • Have a proven track record in developing and leading new business initiatives
  • Sound knowledge of display unit manufacture and the retail environment
  • Able to demonstrate and deliver results, with a desire to succeed
  • Strong initiative and enthusiasm, with a flexible approach
  • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of the marketplace and competitors
  • Customer focused with ability to increase margins and an understanding of P&L
  • Time management skills, with an ability to balance demand among various projects
  • Negotiating and influencing Skills
  • Must hold a Full UK Driving License
