Contracts Manager

About

Our client is an international leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and project management of retail displays. Working with many blue-chip companies and high street retailers, they provide innovative products, services and solutions, while exceeding expectations with their quality and value.

We’re working with them on several roles, including a Contracts Manager. You will oversee the completion of shopfitting/construction projects, ensuring they are on schedule and within the budget.

Job Role

  • Be the first point of contact for members of the project team, taking ownership for H&S
  • Communicate with clients throughout the project, keeping them informed on progress and address any concerns
  • Identify and organise labour resource requirements for the project
  • Procurement of relevant materials and sub-contractor packages
  • Manage and forecasting spend, using purchasing software
  • Frequent site visits, monitoring works progress and quality control
  • Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements are completed
  • Assign tasks to team members
  • Identify and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Preparation of monthly applications for payment and costing of variations
  • Deliver work in progress reports for submission to the Directors
  • Assist in preparing tender submissions

Skills and Experience

  • A technical background within one of Building Services Shopfitting / Construction / M&E / Refrigeration or Civils
  • A strong understanding of the technical, commercial and contractual processes involved in Project Management
  • Client facing experience
  • Contract negotiation skills
  • Extensive list of contacts within the construction / shopfitting industry
  • Able to work effectively within a team
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • A methodical approach to problem solving
  • CAD experience is advantageous, but not essential
  • Good numerical and strong IT skills
  • A willingness to travel both in the UK and overseas
  • Supply chain performance management experience
  • Full Driving License
  • Strong legal compliance focus
