Our client are leading manufacturers within the Point of Purchase industry. They work with both brands and trade in order to produce excellent Retail Displays and bespoke display fixtures. Working as a full-service provider, they have the knowledge and experience to undertake all aspects of retail design, planning, manufacture, delivery and installation.

Now looking for a Development Designer to join their award-winning team. The successful candidate should have strong Solidworks skills, have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate across all tiers of the business daily.

Job role

• Produce working drawing pack from creative visuals for production, incorporating materials ordering and full specification
• Liaising with workshop, clients and suppliers day to day
• Supply of DXF information to workshop for trade laser work
• Liaising with MD and Production manager throughout the day
• Production planning responsibility
• Assist in the management of projects ordering of materials when necessary
• Chasing of suppliers on deliveries, plus sourcing of new suppliers as emerging technology is incorporated into the display designs
• Always thinking about cost and technical efficiencies in the final solution

Skills and Experience

• Motivated, proactive and confident
• High proficiency in Solidworks (mainly 2D, with some 3D)
• Excellent Sheet Metal manufacturing knowledge, with working knowledge of other materials and CNC machinery
• Competent in engineering technical solutions
• Ideally experienced in Retail Display
• An innovative and flexible approach
• Good people skills – the role is occasionally customer facing
• Technical problem solve
• CNC machinery experience in metal preferred (Laser CAD/CAM specifically)
• Full driving license
• Good understanding of Excel / Outlook / PowerPoint
• Excellent attention to detail
