Senior Project Manager

About

Our client is a design, build and reactive maintenance company, specialising in the hospitality and leisure sectors. We’re working closely with them on a number of new roles, including a Senior Project Manager, with experience running large commercial construction projects.

You’ll oversee the planning, co-ordination and control of all projects assigned to you, from inception to completion. You will also play a key role in the client relationship, maintaining excellent communication, while managing their needs and expectations throughout. Experience within the hospitality sector would be highly advantageous to this role. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential. You will need to be proactive and capable of managing your own time, while overseeing multiple subcontractors and trades.

There’s excellent development and training opportunities with this role, if you’re keen to evolve in your field. As the role covers projects nationally and occasionally internationally, some travel and overnight stays will be required.

Job Role

  • Allocate and monitor the necessary labour / site management, specific to the project type, in conjunction with the Head of Contracts and Project team
  • Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor, to control and analyse labour costs
  • Create comprehensive project programs, site meeting minutes and contractor’s reports
  • Attend and contribute to client and contracts meetings
  • Manage and sign off snagging works, completed by the Project Support team
  • Record variations from site and liaise with the QS team
  • Responsible for site health and safety from pre-contract stage through to project completion
  • Monitor all site health and safety procedures and compliance and promote commercial awareness
  • Manage client direct suppliers for projects
  • Liaise with supply chain team, to ensure compliance and effective site set up
  • Deliver projects to agreed program of works, ensuring quality of workmanship is in line company expectations
  • Monitor program of works and identify shortfalls and solutions
  • Ensure relevant design and contract details are available to site personnel
  • Report on the workload, project difficulties and opportunities with the Head of Commercial

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent time management and able to work to deadlines
  • Passionate about delivering a professional service and a quality product
  • Friendly and proactive, with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Professional qualification in project management desirable
  • Experience of working in hospitality sector advantageous
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
