An expert in the design, creation and delivery of brand experiences, our client covers premium brands and retailers across the retail, hospitality, and work sectors.

They’re now looking to add a Technical designer / engineer, to the growing team. To fit this role, you should be able to combine creative aesthetics and technical design knowledge, to develop projects from brief to production.

Job Role

• Meet client requirements with technical design solutions
• Interpret briefs and develop client drawings and visuals for manufacture
• Create renders and visuals of concept designs
• Create highly detailed 2D technical drawings of component parts and assemblies for manufacture
• Consistently assess the design quality in relation to reliability, performance, and safety
• Take feedback and modify designs to ensure the meet the client’s brief
• Utilise technical writing skills to produce operation and maintenance manuals

Skills and Experience

• Liaise with clients directly
• At least 5+ years’ experience in the retail design sector design engineering
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of design for production
• Excellent Solidworks abilities and knowledge
• A good understanding of Adobe CS would be advantageous
• In-depth understand of a wide range of manufacturing techniques, including sheet metal design, plastic fabrication and joinery construction
• Excellent technical abilities, paired with a creative flair
• An understanding of sustainability and consideration for making projects more sustainable
• A keen eye for detail, with a passion for the retail and hospitality sector
• A confident team player who can multitask and keep a positive attitude
• Sound judgement and able to prioritise
