About

Our client is a leading interior fit-out specialist with a strong in-house capability spanning design, manufacture, project delivery, logistics and installation. Their design team works closely with clients, architects and delivery teams from the early stages of a project, using advanced 3D CAD and BIM technology to develop, prototype and test solutions before manufacture. Their approach places a strong emphasis on technical accuracy, value engineering and delivering projects right first time.

Our client is looking for a Middleweight Technical Designer to join their growing design team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technical designer with a strong background in fit-out, interiors, joinery or manufacturing.

You’ll be responsible for taking design concepts and turning them into accurate, practical and manufacturing-ready technical drawing packages, working closely with design, production, project teams, suppliers and manufacturers throughout the process.

The role is hybrid, with 3 days working from the office and 2 days from home.

Job Role

  • Produce detailed technical drawing and manufacturing packs for fit-out projects.
  • Develop and amend CAD drawings in line with design briefs and project requirements.
  • Translate creative concepts into practical, buildable and commercially viable solutions.
  • Produce technical details for joinery, fabrication, sheet metal and wider fit-out elements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, manufacturers and suppliers to ensure designs are accurate and achievable.
  • Support projects through technical problem-solving and design coordination.
  • Ensure drawings meet relevant standards, specifications and project deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate drawing revisions and project documentation.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience producing technical drawings for manufacture.
  • Essential experience using Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
  • A good understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, finishes and construction detailing.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience producing bespoke joinery or furniture drawing packs.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and installation processes.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A broader understanding of the fit-out manufacturing and installation process.
