Established for over 30 years, our client specialises in the design, development and manufacture of innovative retail fixtures, displays and promotional solutions for leading brands and retailers across the UK and Europe.

With in-house design, production and manufacturing capabilities, they deliver creative, commercially focused merchandising solutions, predominantly within the cosmetics and beauty sectors, working across high-end luxury beauty brands through to mass-market retailers.

They’re currently looking to add a Midweight Development Designer to the team. You’ll ideally have 2–3 years’ relevant experience within retail design, ideally with POS experience. You’ll be surrounded by like-minded experts, giving you the opportunity to share knowledge, build on your experience and expertise, and help deliver innovative solutions for clients.

Job Role

• Work within the Technical / Development Design team, bringing innovative retail and POS concepts to life across a variety of projects
• Manage complex design briefs across multiple projects, working to challenging timelines and budgets while delivering engaging, cost-effective solutions
• Develop technically considered designs using SolidWorks, including accurate, detailed and revision-controlled manufacturing drawings
• Apply strong attention to detail and technical discipline, ensuring designs are safe, practical and suitable for manufacture, assembly and installation
• Work collaboratively across the business, contributing ideas, challenging briefs constructively and mentoring junior designers
• Communicate and present design solutions confidently and professionally to clients

Skills and Experience

• Relevant Industrial / Product Design degree, with 2–3 years’ relevant retail design experience, ideally within POS
• Excellent CAD skills, particularly SolidWorks, with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
• Proven experience across manufacturing processes such as vacuum forming, acrylic fabrication, injection moulding, sheet metalwork, timber, illumination, ELV electrical design, solid surface or additive manufacture
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative, commercially focused solutions within tight deadlines and budgets
• An interest in retail, fashion, branding and marketing, with an awareness of emerging trends and innovations
• A proactive, adaptable team player with excellent verbal and visual communication skills and a professional approach to client relationships
• Confident mentoring junior designers while remaining open to guidance, feedback and new ideas
• A strategic thinker who can challenge and question briefs constructively, always considering the wider needs of the business
