Established for 30+ years, our client specialises in the design, development and manufacture of innovative retail fixtures, displays and promotional solutions for leading brands and retailers across the UK and Europe.

With in-house design, production and manufacturing capabilities, they deliver creative, commercially focused merchandising solutions, predominantly within the cosmetics and beauty sectors, working across high-end luxury beauty brands through to mass-market retailers.

They’re currently looking to add a Junior Development Designer to the team. You’ll be surrounded by like-minded experts, giving you the opportunity to share knowledge, build on your experience and develop your expertise while helping to bring innovative retail and POS concepts to life.

Job Role

• Work within the Technical / Development Design team, bringing innovative retail and POS concepts to life across a variety of projects
• Support the design and development process from concept through to manufacture, assembly and installation
• Produce accurate, detailed and revision-controlled manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
• Apply strong attention to detail and technical discipline, ensuring designs are safe, cost-effective and practical to manufacture
• Collaborate with colleagues and other departments, contributing ideas and positively working towards the best design solutions
• Communicate and present design solutions confidently and professionally to clients

Skills

• Relevant Industrial / Product Design degree
• Strong CAD skills, particularly SolidWorks, with good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• An interest in manufacturing processes, ideally with some experience across vacuum forming, acrylic, injection moulding, sheet metalwork, timber, illumination, ELV electrical design, solid surface or additive manufacture
• An interest in retail, fashion, branding and marketing, with an awareness of emerging trends and innovations
• Creative, passionate about design and innovation, with strong problem-solving skills
• A proactive, adaptable team player with excellent verbal and visual communication skills
• Keen to learn, receptive to feedback and confident contributing ideas in a busy, collaborative environment
