A well-established Point of Sale and Display Production company based in Yorkshire, with over 30 years of industry experience, our client has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality solutions and exceptional customer service. Through their unique approach to project delivery, they work with a diverse range of clients, taking concepts from initial brief through to manufacture, installation and final completion.

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Solidworks CAD Designer to join their team. This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to work on projects from concept and quotation stage through to design, manufacture and on-site installation.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and engineering projects using SolidWorks, while overseeing the manufacture, build and construction of the solutions you have designed. This position offers excellent variety and exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle, including client interaction, supplier management, project coordination, site visits and installations.

Job Role

  • Producing detailed layout drawings, technical drawings and calculations using SolidWorks.
  • Interpreting client briefs and developing practical, manufacturable design solutions.
  • Managing projects from quotation and client enquiry stages through to manufacture and installation.
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers and engineers to discuss design requirements, specifications and technical details.
  • Updating and amending construction drawings as required throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Working closely with artworkers and production teams to oversee the build process and ensure designs are accurately manufactured.
  • Coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Conducting site visits, surveys and audits where required.
  • Supporting and leading on-site installations, ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Providing technical support and problem-solving throughout design, production and installation phases.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and customer service at all times.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ commercial experience using Solidworks.
  • Ability to produce accurate production and construction drawings.
  • Previous experience within a building, construction, manufacturing, retail fit-out or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and construction principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hands-on approach with a willingness to be involved in build and installation activities.
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced project environment.
  • Portfolio or examples of production drawings created in Solidworks.
