The Junior Development Designer plays a key support role in the technical design and delivery process. Working alongside senior designers and project managers, you’ll ensure accurate, build-ready information is produced and distributed to internal teams and suppliers, helping reduce errors, delays and rework.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical design and manufacturing knowledge while contributing to the smooth coordination of workshop and supplier activity.

Job Role

• Produce and update technical drawings using SolidWorks (or similar CAD software)
• Apply accurate specifications, materials and finishes to ensure build clarity
• Prepare and issue drawings with correct formatting and version control
• Support senior designers in developing practical, manufacturable solutions
• Assist with production handovers and supplier documentation
• Maintain organised digital file structures and technical records
• Communicate clearly with internal teams and suppliers to clarify details
• Monitor task progress and flag discrepancies early
• Support site visits and installations to gain real-world project insight
• Develop understanding of manufacturing processes, timelines and constraints
• Manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail

Skills and Experience

• Qualification or training in Product Design, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software
• Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn
• Clear communicator with a practical, problem-solving approach
• Interest in how design decisions impact cost, quality and delivery
