About

Our client is a leading design and manufacturing specialist in retail and brand environments.

With a strong heritage and a reputation for innovation and delivery, they offer bespoke solutions across displays, fixtures and point-of-sale, for some of the world’s most recognisable brands and retailers.

They are seeking a Senior Account Director, to lead a sector of the business with full autonomy. The successful candidate will drive growth by managing key customer relationships, mentoring account teams, and developing strategic plans to expand accounts and increase profitability. This senior leadership role will also involve supporting business development initiatives, holding P&L responsibility, and ensuring best-in-class project delivery.

The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute, dynamic leader. Paired with a proven track record in client services or sales management, ideally in retail manufacturing or creative production environments.

Job Role

  • Lead and grow a business sector with full ownership of strategic accounts and revenue goals
  • Oversee account teams, driving performance, development and customer excellence
  • Create and execute account growth strategies, including new business development
  • Hold P&L accountability for a business unit (target: £3m+ annual turnover)
  • Maintain and develop high-value client relationships, ensuring long-term partnerships
  • Represent the business in client meetings, tenders, and presentations with authority and professionalism
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (design, estimating, production, logistics)
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, systems, and margin optimisation
  • Coach, manage and evaluate team members, including conducting appraisals and performance management

Skills and Experience

  • Strategic account and business development
  • Commercial acumen and P&L management
  • Leadership and team management across multiple disciplines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Tendering, quoting, and pricing strategy
  • Project oversight from concept to delivery
  • Understanding of manufacturing, materials, and finishes
  • ERP systems knowledge and process improvement
  • Presentation and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of the retail, display or POS industry
